Introduction
to Bridal Consulting: Professional Development Internship
A seven day internship for those who are serious about
becoming a professional bridal consultant. Follow Michele for a week at her
Bridal Potpourri office, observe a rehearsal and participate as an assistant
at an actual wedding. The experience includes, but is not limited to, the
following:
At
Bridal Potpourri
- See detailed wedding checklists and timelines
for clients
- See a sample Selected Vendor Referral List, learn
how to build business relationships and successfully maintain them
- Observe the final meeting with the Bride before
the wedding
- Assist with "week of" wedding duties, including
pick up and delivery of wedding items to ceremony and reception venues
- Assembly projects and minor decorating tasks
- View custom designs including Save the Dates and
Invitations, Wedding Programs, Seating Charts, Place Cards, etc.
- Review a sample client notebook that organizes
vendor info and contracts, correspondence, notes, timelines, etc.
Rehearsal
- Observe Ceremony Rehearsal with the officiant,
bridal party and their families
- See how last minute changes are handled
- Help stock the emergency kit and see what items
are helpful to have on hand during the weekend
Wedding Day
- Observe
the direction of bridal party, family and guests throughout the day
- Help oversee setup of ceremony site including putting
programs and guest book in place, arrangement of unity candle display, etc.
- Understand the process of the day's setup and timing
including vendor arrivals, ceremony setup, reception completion
- Get an overall view of the behind-the-scenes action
and how to prioritize where to be and when to be there
- Understand the importance of how to accommodate
and ensure the comfort of each guest
- Greet guests as they enter, making sure they feel
welcome and taken care of
- Observe the coordination of the bridal party and
timing of the processional
- Assist in setup of reception site including placement
of menus, placecards and favors, room set-up arranged according to diagram,
etc.
- Guide guests to the reception site once ceremony
has concluded
- Observe coordination of reception events, making
sure that important people are present when they take place
- Secure and pack up all extra items at the end of
the night and put gifts in the proper location
Flexible
scheduling dates...Intern to provide own airfare and accommodations.
Professional Development Program fee $1,500.00
Personal Interview
Michele is available to discuss the business of wedding
planning and her experiences in the Lexington market with you at an hourly
rate of $60.00. These appointments can be scheduled Monday thru Wednesday
and will take place at her Bridal Potpourri office.
Michele
has over ten years of experience in the wedding business. She is an
Accredited Bridal Consultant through the Association of Bridal Consultants
and has been a member since 1998. Michele and her staff have planned
and coordinated over 200 weddings and assisted over 1,000 brides with
custom designed invitations, wedding programs, favors and elegant
wedding and reception accessories.
